I told you so
This is for you, Peter and Samantha. You said I had to start write in English on my blog now, and I said I would. So here it is, my blog in English. Maybe I won't write in English every day, but my blog isn't that interesting anyway, specially not now when I'm back in Karlskoga. You were right, almost everything is the same.
Today I slept 'til 12.30 pm. Don't know if it's some kind of delayed jet lag, or a cold, but it felt good to sleep. Usually I hate to sleep through half of the day, but today was different. Mom and I took a walk to Prix (the nearest supermarket), they renovated and rebuilt the whole store while I was gone. Don't know if I like it or not, but it felt good to see all the familiar groceries! I noticed they put up signs in all the aisles with numbers and what kind of groceries you can find. That made me think about America. Then it hit me how much I miss Americans (I miss some Americans alot more then other, of course!). Nobody here says "excuse me" or "I'm sorry" if they want to squeese through. As you walk pass somebody, they stop talking for the moment you pass, as if you had an elephant flying above your head. People only talk to who they know, and if you say more than hello to a stranger, you get the look as if you were an idiot. Very strange, and very hard to get used to. It was easier getting used to people asking how you are, and telling you to have a nice day. Even if it doesn't mean anything, it's still nicer. I'll try my best to keep some of the American politeness!
Now back to what's actually great about being here at the moment; the weather! Today my mom wanted to go for a walk so we walked down to the lake near by our house. Everything was white, and the sun tried to shine through the clouds, which made everyhing look purple and grey. Yesterday we had northern lights here!
Apart from rude, cold swedes, and beautiful swedish winter, I'm in panic over the economy. Everybody looses their jobs, and there are few jobs available. So I'm starting to look up schools. I found one that was nice, in the northern part of the country. They had a program for International Economics that sounds really interesting, PLUS, most students make 6 months of their las year abroad! Took a look at where in the world it could take me. Reykjavik (Iceland), France, Australia, Italy and NEW JERSEY, USA! Haha, that's funny, isn't it?
I wasn't planning on waiting that long to get back to the states, though. If I can find a job pretty soon (good luck, Sandra), I'll stay home and just save save save. Then I'll come to London with my dear friend Josefine, and we'll both fly from there to the US.
Because of our sports break next week (it's like spring break, but people go skiing in stead of drinking, I promise!), all of my friends will be here this weekend. I can't wait so see you and hug you all! We're gonna have so much fun on saturday! And I'll make the cocolate and lime cake and we can see each other as much as possible before you all go back. Oh, I wish it was saturday today.
Well, actually, it's nice it's wednesday tomorrow. Me and Kristin are going to see a hockey game, finally! And, it's FREE. There'll be alot of people, and the team they're playing against is a good team, so hopefully it'll be a really good game.
That's my day, and my plans for the nearest future. Besides that, I'm gonna miss not being in NJ for valentines day, and for spring, and summer and.... well, I miss you every day, Pelosis! Hope that Olga teach you skype soon, so we can talk!
Gonna get ready for bed now. Trying to get on local time is not that easy.
Goodnight<3
